These are bull elk in captivity on our drive over to the ranch.
I had a cow elk license so grandpa enjoyed terrorizing the country to get me close to the elk. :)
No wonder elk live up here...beautiful view down to the valley where the ranch is.
We shot when they were standing on the ridge top...now to start hiking! :)(remember 8800 feet elevation!)

A beautiful sunset followed a fun hunting adventure!
Grandpa drove to the ridge top to help us drag her up about 100 yards...he had a cable on the front of the truck.
Almost loaded...makes the work much easier!!! We'll enjoy the memories and the meat! :)
